On September 1st, a new, modern, public bus terminal opened in Puerto Natales. Located in the upper section of the city, at the corner of Santiago Bueras and Avenida España, it includes central ticket counters, a cafeteria, snack shops and toilets. All regular inter-city buses serving Puerto Natales will henceforth arrive at and depart from this new terminal, instead of using each bus company’s own offices, resulting in better-regulated traffic to and from the town. As a consequence, however, buses are no longer permitted to pick up or drop off passengers at their hotel; passengers will now need to go to the terminal to take a regularly-scheduled bus.
