For the first time, Chile has been ranked among the “world’s most ethical destinations” by the independent, volunteer-run US NGO “Ethical Traveler.” Each year, the organization compiles this list of developing countries to show best practice cases and incentivize others to improve as well. Tourists should “vote with their wings” and choose ethical destinations over others. The criteria for making the list are respect of human rights, good social standards and protection of the environment. Those criteria are closely watched by “Ethical Traveler” each year. Chile scored especially high regarding the protection of endangered animals and the sustainable management of the forests.
We are very happy about this ranking – one more reason to visit this wonderful country!
