The iconic Torres del Paine National Park remains one of Patagonia’s most sought-after trekking destinations.
While the classic W-Trek remains a top choice for hikers seeking dramatic landscapes in a shorter timeframe, crossing three of the park’s most iconic valleys: Ascencio, French, and Grey, the approximately 110 km O-Trek (Macizo Paine Circuit) has long been a favorite for those wanting a more immersive 7- to 10-day adventure.
The O-Trek is perfect for travelers seeking a wilder Patagonian experience, with fewer crowds and a deeper, more personal connection to the landscape.

Important information when trekking the O circuit independently:
As of January 1, 2026, CONAF has implemented a new Mountain Trail Safety Protocol to enhance safety across Torres del Paine.
Key updates include:
- Early warning system for changing weather and trail conditions
- Scientific criteria for preventive trail closures
- Improved coordination between weather and emergency authorities
Please note: Depending on conditions, sections of the O-Trek may be temporarily closed, and hikers may not be allowed to continue the circuit.
