The temperatures of the Pacific (24 degrees in the summer months) are more pleasant than along the Chilean mainland. At Anakena Beach, velvety-soft sand, <strong>turquoise waters<\/strong> and coconut palms swaying gently in the wind make for a perfect South Seas experience. As if deliberately turning their backs on the sea, five Moai figures also stand tall over the <strong>small romantic bay<\/strong> and seem to guard the hinterland.
