Until the mid-1980s, the train was used for regular passenger and freight transport. Today, up to 390 passengers can sit on the wide seats of the restored train wagons. This approximately five-hour excursion departs in the late morning from Valdivia.  Stopovers are made in Pishuinco and Huellelhue, where passengers can disembark and explore the area&#8217;s gastronomy and typical crafts.
