Chile made the list twice, representing the whole \u201cCono Sur,\u201d or southern South America: Tierra Atacama and Tierra Patagonia. <\/p>\n<p>The jury of experts visited all the candidates in order to get an on-site understanding of the architecture, quality and service, the social standards, and environmental protection in daily operations. The selected hotels will be part of future Nat-Geo expeditions, photography classes, journals and books.
