Phase I, due for completion in early 2014, is meant to boost capacity from the current 9 million passengers per year to 15 million. This phase will include the renovation of existing buildings and facilities, a new baggage handling system, seven new counters for domestic flights, a new five-gate remote international boarding area, and additional passport control counters for international fliers.
