The story began in 1926 with the creation of what is now <strong>Vicente P\u00e9rez Rosales National Park <\/strong>in Chile\u2019s Lake District. The park is home to the <strong>spectacular Petrohu\u00e9 Falls<\/strong>, one of the region\u2019s most popular destinations for excursions, known for its rushing turquoise waters and impressive volcanic surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past century, Chile has steadily expanded its network of protected areas, safeguarding the country\u2019s remarkable landscapes and biodiversity for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most impressive examples is the <strong>Route of Parks of Patagonia<\/strong> (Ruta de los Parques de la Patagonia). Stretching some 2,800 kilometres from Puerto Montt to Cape Horn, the route <strong>connects 17 national parks <\/strong>and showcases some of southern Chile\u2019s most spectacular scenery \u2013 from volcanoes and ancient forests to glaciers, fjords and the vast landscapes of Patagonia. Vast Patagonian steppes and diverse wildlife characterize <strong>Patagonia National Park<\/strong>.
