Their livelihood is also based on livestock farming, traditional agriculture and by-products. The Atacame\u00f1o community of Socaire is made up of members descended from the traditional families of the Socaire area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Chaxa-lagoon-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Flamingos at Chaxa lagoon\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16353\" \/><strong><br \/>\nChaxa lagoon &#038; Salar de Tara:<\/strong><br \/>\nThese sites are in the care of the indigenous Lickan Antay community of Toconao. They are committed to promoting solidarity, responsibility, respect and commitment among their members and to building a new intercultural society that promotes the value of differences and non-discrimination.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Moon-valley-atacama-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Man at Moon valley atacama\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-16356\" \/><br \/>\n<\/br><br \/>\n<strong>Moon valley:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Moon Valley is administered by the Valle de la Luna Indigenous Association, an association of 6 Atacame\u00f1o communities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Baltinache-lagoon-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Baltinache lagoon\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16359\" \/><br \/>\n<\/br><br \/>\n<strong>Aldea de Tulor, Lagoons Baltinache &#038; Tebinquinche:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ethnic Atacame\u00f1a community of Coyo looks after this landscape and cultural heritage of the country. The community lies 2,400 metres above sea level and is one of the 24 indigenous communities that belong to the Salar de Atacama basin. They grow traditional crops such as alfalfa, maize, wheat and fruit trees. Livestock farming consists of cattle, goats and, to a lesser extent, pigs, rabbits and chickens. Handicrafts are made from the wool of sheep and llamas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cejar-lagoon-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Cejar lagoon\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-16362\" \/><strong>Cejar lagoon:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis lagoon is located in the Atacame\u00f1a community of Solor.<br \/>\nLocal archaeological records show that the community of Solor is home to one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Atacama region. The Ayllu of Solor once served as a place for agricultural production and livestock breeding. The surrounding meadows and the Cejar lagoon were important areas for breeding animals such as lambs, goats and llamas.<br \/>\nNowadays, the Ayllu of Solor is still a residential and agricultural area where livestock farming is still practised. The practices inherited from the ancestors of the Atacame\u00f1o continue to characterise the territory and the daily lives of the members of the Ayllu de Solor community.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WQjMBQXEXDk?si=PEkMRZR-khi3zM5N\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Araucan\u00eda Region<\/strong>, the <strong>Rutas Ancestrales Araucarias<\/strong> tourism initiative offers visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the traditions, culture, and daily life of the indigenous Mapuche communities. Guests can enjoy authentic regional cuisine, participate in traditional handicraft workshops, and explore seed-preserving community gardens as well as scenic trails through native forests<\/p>\n<p>The project gained international recognition with the prestigious <strong>TO DO Award 2021<\/strong> in Germany and continues to be recognized as a leading example of community-based and indigenous tourism in Latin America, including recognition at the <strong>WTM Latin America Responsible Tourism Awards 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rapa-Nui.png\" alt=\"Woman on Rapa Nui\" width=\"700\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rapa-Nui.png 700w, https:\/\/www.chile-reise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rapa-Nui-620x204.png 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rapa Nui (Easter Island)<\/strong> is renowned not only for its enigmatic Moai statues but also for its spectacular volcanic landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and vibrant Polynesian heritage. Much of the island is protected within Rapa Nui National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been managed by the <strong>indigenous Mau Henua community<\/strong> since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Dedicated to safeguarding the island\u2019s unique cultural and natural legacy, Mau Henua plays a vital role in preserving archaeological sites, restoring and protecting the iconic moai, and promoting the traditions, knowledge, and ancestral customs of the Rapa Nui people for future generations.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At travelArt, sustainability and social responsibility are at the centre of our corporate values.
