The trip to Chiloe was good, especially seeing 2 types of penguin. Gonzalo, the guide was very good and informative. The trip to the Tierra del Fuego Natinal Park was excellent, especially the little Train to the End of the World! The driver Juan Manuel was excellent, helpful, friendly and informative.

San Pedro de Atacama was wonderful and the trips beyond were brilliant. I generally don’t like desert, but this really was something very special. My guide Cristobal was also good, informative, helpful, gentlemanly and friendly. I can’t praise him too highly.

Easter island was fascinating and the guide, Karen, was very informative.

We thought this was another excellent holiday. We saw a great deal of what is a very large country, and came home with a good overall impression of Chile.

The hotels were fine, the Altiplanico at Puerto Varas was outstanding and fascinating.

Our guide Ronald was superb. His knowledge of the country was vast, and he imparted this to us in just the right amount, not too little and not too much.

The other local guides were mostly also good, especially those at the two vineyards. The restaurants were extremely good, very well chosen.

We were glad, that Carlos had accompanied us for 2 days and that he described all sightseeings in an excellent German. We learned a lot about Chile, its politics and economy as well as the inhabitants. We can recommend him without any hesitation. Thanks also to the cautious drivers.

From Lima we flew to Santiago in Chile, and picked up K. and K. B. before having a private transfer with private guide south of Santiago to a big wine-producing area. Our private guide here, Lionel, was clearly the best guide that we had throughout our part of the journey. He was incredibly specialised on the subject of wine, but also gave us a good insight into the history of Chile and its politics and economic development.

Puerto Varas.
The Cabanas del Lago was an excellent Hotel with beautiful views across the lake. We liked the place. …
Explora - Torres del Paine
The Explora must be one of the top hotels in the world. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The views are just breathtaking. … The birdwatching was great. We saw Condors very close to and much else besides. The weather was also kind to us - sunshine and showers and not too much wind. We definitely want to go back.
Punta Arenas.

The Cabo de Hornos Hotel was pleasant and the staff were friendly … We liked Punta Arenas. It had the feel of a frontier town. It was untouristy and inexpensive. We ate the most fantastic seafood … The excursion to the Penguin colony was very good inspite of the wild weather.
Via Australis.

A nice size for a cruise ship. Our cabin was very comfortable. The food and wine was excellent. The trips ashore were well organised and the guides were knowledgeable. The cruise was an interesting experience and, for me, very exciting to be in the Magellan Strait/Beagle Channels etc. The scenery was again breathtaking and glaciers galore! …
