In the August 2015 Newsletter, we introduced the new product “Tren Sabores del Valle”: a train that crosses the Colchagua Valley on its way to the main wine-producing valleys of Chile. The train was out of operation during this season due to major construction work. The work has now been completed and we are able to offer this wonderful day trip to/from Santiago again. The information is attached: On its way to the Colchagua Valley, the train crosses Chile’s most popular wine-producing valleys while entertaining passengers with live music and wine tastings to get them in the right mood for the vineyard tour. After a two hour ride, the train arrives at San Fernando, the “Gate to the Colchagua Valley”. The tour continues by bus to the town of Santa Cruz, right in the heart of the valley, to discover the gastronomy and traditions of this famous wine region. Guests will have some free time to explore the city centre with its beautiful Plaza de Armas and colonial-style buildings and to eat lunch at one of various local restaurants.
Afterwards the tour continues to a renowned winery of the Colchagua Valley. During the visit, the guests will gain insight into Chilean winegrowing and learn about the special characteristics of this privileged region. Of course, they will also personally experience the quality of the wine during the wine tasting that follows. At the end of this exciting day, the guests will be taken back to San Fernando by bus, where the train to Santiago awaits them.
