Gold found in Chile!

Elke Hausdorf and Carsten Bengelsdorf have been exploring for you again – this time in Chile’s Central Region. The Millahue Valley, meaning “Valley of Gold” in the local indigenous language, lies only about two hours south of Santiago. At the end of this valley, in a very privileged location, the VIK Winery Hotel has been indulging its guests since October 2014. Elke and Carsten have now tried and tested the new hotel – and came back so enthusiastic!

The hotel is located on a hill, so visitors can see its shimmering gold roof from afar. Its colours appear to be changing constantly – an effect provoked by the titanium used in construction. Many large windows mean that the surrounding vineyards are always in sight. The 22 suites in the hotel are real “pieces of gold,” since each one is spacious, bright, and uniquely furnished. The individuality of each room is shown by quirky room names such as “Louis Louis” or “Rock’n Rio.” The very tasteful selection of furniture, lamps, pieces of art, and the bathroom interiors are unique to Chile. The hotel offers programs including a tour through the winery and a degustation in the architecturally special “Cava.” VIK has become one of Chile’s high-end red wines in only a few years, and guests can fully appreciate its elaborate production here.

The hotel of Viña VIK is an ideal retreat to finish off your journey through Chile, and provides a tranquil oasis including an infinity pool and creative cuisine using only local organic products. Yoga lessons are also part of the offer, as well as easy trekking and horse riding excursions.

We recommend this hotel as a starting point for tours to different wineries, and for beach excursions. Please ask your travelArt sales partner if you would like to include it in your programs.
