Checklist Patagonia

Slowly, but surely, spring is coming to Chile – the first Magnolias are already flowering in Santiago! This means: the new season is only one small step away and the hotels and refugios in Patagonia are more than busy preparing their reopening in September.

High time for a small checklist Patagonia:

  • Multiple layers of clothing: windproof, rainproof, but also light summer gear
  • For the hikes: quick dry t-shirts, comfortable trekking trousers, best with zip-off option
  • Sunscreen for head and neck, sun lotion and sunglasses
  • Hat and gloves, preferably of fleece, as well as scarf
  • Firm, yet comfortable hiking boots
  • Warm and comfortable hiking socks
  • Light daypack, preferably with water storage and a small towel
  • Rain protection for the bagpack
  • For the “Refugios” (shelters): comfortable clothes, slippers, flip-flops, trekking towels and bath amenities. If not included in the booked program: sleeping bag
  • For the hotels: everyday atire

Our tailor-made packages and tours through Patagonia offer an option for everyone to discover this wild, but wonderful “end of the world”, according to each one´s interests, budget, preferences, and fitness:

  • Rent-a-car tours for in adventurous individualists
  • Hiking routes from shelter to shelter, such as the famous “W-Trekking” for the more athletic adventurers
  • Photo safaris for nature lovers
  • Panoramic tours for the more layed back travellers
  • Hiking adventures with accommodation in high level hotels for gourmet travellers

Of course, any of those tours may additionally feature an immersion into the Patagonian “Estancia” culture, horse riding excursions or even more extreme adventures such as ice hiking or kayak tours inmidst of blue icebergs. If you are interested in one of our Patagonian adventures, your travelArt sales partner will be happy to help you!
