All-clear at the Calbuco and Villarrica Volcanos

We are happy to announce that the situation at the Calbuco Volcano and the Villarrica Volcano has further stabilized. Both volcanos show low levels of geologic activity, which continue to decline steadily. Therefore, the authorities in charge have lowered each alarm level to “Yellow.” Both volcanos are to be permanently monitored.

After the successful relaunch of the Lake Crossing Excursion from Petrohue to Peulla in mid-May, now the most important tourist attractions in this beautiful region have been reopened and were recently enjoyed by the first tourists. All hotels, including the Petrohue Lodge and the hotels in Peulla, are open and operational. In this video about the return of the tourists, you can see the current conditions at Lake Todos los Santos and surroundings (video in Spanish):

The Villarrica National Park has been reopened as well. Authorities advise visitors not to approach within 3 km of the crater, a measurement that does not affect most of the hiking trails in the park.

At the beginning of the season, we will do a detailed evaluation and post you, which tours can be done as always and if there have to be modifications made in some tours.

If you have questions or would like to book a tour to the Lake Region for the upcoming season, please ask your travelArt sales partner.
