Very close to history: A visit with the descendants of the first German settlers

We are happy to offer you a new experience in the southern Chilean Lake Region: your clients will have the chance to get to know a family, which lives in the countryside near Puerto Varas. The family’s ancestors were among the first German settlers in the Lake Region in 1852. The family speaks German even today. Their big wooden house dates back to 1918 and contains many original objects that were brought from Germany to Chile by the settlers – a real piece of history! After visiting the house, yard and tools, you can have a conversation with some of the family members and learn about the moved history of German settlers while enjoying coffee and cookies. The visit can be conducted as a half-day or full-day excursion. The full-day version includes a delicious local lunch. After that, the guests will be invited for a walk or to help with seasonal work, if there is any. The lunch could also be included in the half-day version. Your travelArt contact can assist you with the different options for this fascinating encounter.
