Starting mid-December, there will be a new place to stay for hikers taking the famous W-Route at Torres del Paine National Park: Domos El Francés. Located in the Valle del Francés, about an hour west of Refugio Los Cuernos, the three fixed, heated domed tents have four bunk beds each, along with community bathrooms and a dining room. The Domos El Francés offers breakfast, a box lunch and dinner, equalling the route’s refugios. The green-painted buildings fit perfectly into their natural surroundings, and offer a great view of Lake Nordenskjold, the Torres, and the Paine Grande Massif. The Domos El Francés compliments the Refugio Los Cuernos as the only accommodations along this part of the W-Route, enabling us to offer this classic trek to more guests.
