A documentary created by the Chilean tourist agency was featured at this year’s Berlinale, highlighting the spectacular landscapes of the Atacama Desert and Patagonia. The video, part of an official tourism campaign of the country, was featured on two screens at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, home of the famous film festival’s red carpet, from the 6th to the 16th of February. Shown a total of 176 times, the documentary was an eye-opener for countless moviegoers, artists and press members, who were able to appreciate the great beauty of Chile almost as if they’d seen it in person. Following the Berlinale, the video went to Italy, to be rescreened in St. Mark’s Square during the Carnival of Venice. The documentary was part of a Chilean government effort to boost the recognition value of Chile among potential European visitors.
